Cars that are owned and journalistic teams were parked outside the home of Manchester United footballer Ryan Giggs, were attacked and smashed by a group of men, police said.
Regional Police in Manchester and surrounding areas reported that their patrols were called to the address of the player in Worsley, Salford County, close to Manchester, to prevent vandal actions against motor vehicles.
Police officers were informed that six vehicles were smashed after a group of attackers arrived at the place with Ford Transit van and caused damage to cars, says the official release.
Journalists present at the incident, explain how car tires were pop and released, and the cars were sprinkled with flour and pelted with eggs. Police arrived on the scene found that none suffered. Men who have attacked the cars of reporters were masked and can not give more information about them.
The incident became day after the disclosure of Giggs as a participant in intimate extramarital affair with TV presenter Imogen Thomas.
