![]() | Sensational Finals in the NL after a Historic Atlanta Massacre and a Shocking Turn in L. A.17-10-2019 |
After a two-year stint with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Major League Baseball National League will have a new champion. The super-favorite for the third consecutive World Series appearance has been sensationally dropped in the divisional series, allowing for a shocking home run against the player with the Wild Card in the Washington Nationals playoffs.
The rival of the city in the NL title dispute will be no less unexpected after the St. Louis Cardinals made a historic pogrom as a guest of the Atlanta Braves and also came to the ultimate success in the `3 out of 5` format aftertrailed by 1-2 wins.
It all started late last night at Atlanta`s Dream Trust Park, where the Finns smashed the Braves by 13-1, scoring 10 points in the 1st inning. This is an absolute record for the opening inning of a Major League playoff game and an even performance record in an elimination attack in general. It is also the first time a team scores ten times in one attack without a single home run. So far, 10 teams have scored three points in one inning during the regular season: Philadelphia Atletico vs. Chicago Kubbs in the 7th inning of Game 4 of the 1929 World Series; The Detroit Tigers against the St. Louis Cardinals in the 3rd inning of Game 6 of the 1968 World Series;and Anaheim Angels vs. Minnesota Twins in 7th inning of Game 5 of 2002 American League Final
Atlanta starter Mike Foltinevic (L 1-1) managed only 1 out. while releasing 3 hits and 3 pain bases and taking 7 points. Replaced by Max Fried, he was not much more effective and gave 2 more hits, one walk and 3 points until the end of the first part.
In the 3rd inning it was already 13-0 for St. Louis and fans` hopes for a miracle were sharply destroyed. With 2 RBI each for the sound success of the guests four -;Dexter Fowler, Colton Wong, Tommy Edman and Paul Deyong scored Marcel Osuna, Matt Carpenter, Harrison Bader and pitcher Jack Flacherty (W 1-1) at one point. For 6 innings of elevation, the starter made 8 strikeouts and made only one significant error -;Josh Donaldson`s solo home run in the 4th.
The second playoff bomb was dropped early this morning at Dodger St. in LA, where the Dodgers inexplicably crashed against Nationals and lost 3:7 for 10 innings. The hosts led 3:0 after 5th and 3:1 after 7th, but then were punished with three home runs, one of which more memorable.
In the 8th inning, Anthony Randon and Juan Soto sent two consecutive ace throws to Clayton Kershaw (BS 1) over the fence, climbing the hill at 2 outs in the 7th as a starter for Walker Bueller. In the extra inning Joe Kelly (L 0-1) filled the bases without an out -;with a walk from Adam Eaton, a double-hit by Randon and a deliberate base for Soto`s pain, after which Howie Kendrick smashed his ball for his second grand slam in the career and first in the playoffs.
Duel Hudson (W 1-0) rifle drafted the 9th inning without a point, and quarterback Sean Doolittle closed the net defense in the 10th and signed a rogue verdict. The NL Finals will open tomorrow night (October 11) at Bush St. in St. Louis, where it will be the second match of the series to win 4 on Saturday (October 12). On Monday and Tuesday (October 14-15) the third and fourth matches will be played
