Goalkeeper Manuel Noyer was selected No. 1 player in Germany for the 2010/2011 season in a poll of the authoritative publication "kickers."
Noyer, who this summer moved from Schalke 04 Bayern Munich, gathered 210 votes in the poll. Thus he became the first goalkeeper to win the trophy, after Oliver Kahn in 2000 and 2001. In the second place with 190 points ranked scorer in the Bundesliga Bayern Mario Gomez.
Turkish midfielder Nuri Sahin, who helped Borussia Dortmund to win the title, and last month signed with Real Madrid, was third with 142 points. Champions coach Jurgen cluck expected was named coach of the season, and for women the best was elected Fatmir Bajrami.
