The management of FC Cologne intends to open negotiations with representatives of Lukas Podolski on a possible new treaty on the German national. Striker was linked with a move to another team earlier in the summer, but ultimately chose to remain "Rhein Energie Shtadion". 26-year-Podolki is in pretty good form and scored four goals this season, and also made four scoring assists. The bosses of the "goats" are quite satisfied with the player and start to believe it calls for a new contract. Scorer has two more years of the current contract and the club's sporting director Volker Fink told the "Bild": "This is an extremely important issue for us. Of course, we will talk in the winter. Definitely will not wait the last minute."
