Marco Van Basten will be returned to Ajax to become sports director of Grand Amsterdam. 46-year-old former Dutch international was named the favorite for the post of Adviser to the team Johan Cruyff, but negotiations between the two countries have failed. "I spoke with Ajax and the proposal seems quite interesting," said Van Basten for "Sport1". "However, there were some things that could not be resolved, so I said forget about it," added the former winner of the "Golden Ball". Guus Hiddink has also been tipped for the post, but now the club will choose between Marc Overmars and Edwin van der Sar, according to Dutch media.
