Barcelona winger Pedro Rodriguez was very close to a transfer to Arsenal in the summer, reports the newspaper "El Mundo Deportivo".
According to the newspaper the negotiations between the Spanish and the English Grand National were fought before the "Gunners" to complete the transfer of Alexis Sanchez.
It is believed that 27-year-old was convinced that the time of "Camp Nou" has expired, if Gerardo Martino remain coach of the team. He also had a conversation with the now former teammate Cesc Fabregas on the club from North London.
With the appointment of Luis Enrique, however, things changed as Pedro in the first days held a private conversation with him. The specialist convinced him that he is still an important part of his plans, and Rodriguez told the agent that remains despite the interest from Arsenal.
So far this season the Spaniard has made four starts as a starter, and the other two games were off the bench. Pedro's contract with Barca is until the summer of 2016.
