The Portuguese Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo will move later today, medical examinations after suffering a thigh muscle injury on the right leg in the team's victory with 3:0 over Villarreal.
The coach of Real Madrid, Zinedine Zidane said that Ronaldo needs rest and may even miss some matches until the end of the season. The Portuguese footballer is questionable for the match from the Spanish Championship against Rayo Vallecano at the weekend.
Ronaldo left the pitch in the last seconds of the match and Real was left with 10 men after Zidane had done all three shifts.
The Portuguese national has played a full 90 minutes in all 34 matches of Real Madrid in La Liga and in the 10-match of the Champions League. He was replaced at only 89 minutes into the first leg of the semifinals against Roma.
'From time to time, he should be replaced, in order to be able to rest. It is necessary for him to complete a match or to miss a meeting. But he's a footballer who always wants to play and give my best. It's hard for me sometimes.', commented Zidane, who expects Ronaldo's injury is not serious.
