The titular goalkeeper of the elite German Borussia Dortmund Roman Bürki underwent surgery and will be absent from the games in the next eight weeks.
The 26-year-old Swiss national received a fracture during the derby with Bayern Munich from the Bundesliga on Saturday but finished the match which was won with 1:0.
Roman Bürki will be replaced by the veteran Roman Weidenfeller.
