The Association of European clubs refused to endorse the decision of FIFA to increase the number of finalists at the World Championship.
The leadership of the world football organization decided that since 2026 48 teams will attend the final tournaments of the World Championships, not 32 as it is in the present.
Th Association of European clubs announced that a decision has been taken on political rather than sporting reasons.
The Association will discuss the situation at the upcoming meeting, which must be held at the end of January.
