Lampard: 'It is very difficult to replace a player like Costa!'27-06-2017 |
The legendary Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard said that the club will experience serious difficulties in its attempt to replace Diego Costa, who is expected to leave the Stamford Bridge in the coming weeks. The 28-year-old Spanish national was the team's top scorer in each of the three seasons in which he was a part of the Blue as he helped the Londoners to win two titles in the Premier League. He, however, had a conflict with the Italian mentor Antonio Conte's mentor and the former head coach of Juventus doesn't think more to rely on him.
'Diego is a fantastic striker and we all saw it last season. It will be very difficult to replace him, there is no doubt. He has a complete physical presence but also possesses the necessary qualities to be able to score. In today's football, it is hard to find such players.', said Lampard.
Last season, Costa scored 22 goals in 42 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions.
