Mourinho: 'The goal was important for Lukaku, not for me!'19-07-2017 |
The Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho said Romelu Lukaku is a top striker, who is doing a great job, regardless of whether he scores a goal in duel or not. The Belgian scored his first goal for the Red Devils tonight when he contributed to the victory with 2:1 over Real Salt Lake. That victory was a hit for the English team and Lukaku had an active role in it.
'Scoring was good for him, but it wasn't important to me. Before he scored that goal I told him that I love everything he does on the field, and he should not be worried about whether he scored or not. He goes behind the defenders, he works hard, he presses well. I like everything he does. It is easy to feel him because he was my player four years ago. His development is great. Now he is a top striker. The goal is just a detail, it is not important.', said Mourinho.
