Billionaire Richard de Vos, who is the founder of the multiplayer marketing company Amoulay, owner of the NBA Basketball Team Orlando Magic and a father of the US Secretary of Education Betsy de Vos, died today at the age of 92.

Speaker of the family Nick Wosmillar announced that De Vos died in his West Michigan home of complications resulting from an infection. The rich man was born in Grand Rapids, 225 kilometers west of Detroit, and then continued to live where he met his death.

The brisk climb in the business hierarchy began in 1949 when he and his partner Jay van Andel took 49 million dollars and invested them in the Nutrilite company for the direct sale of vitamins. He then creates Amway, which makes even more money in North America and around the world.

In 1991 he bought the team of Orlando Magic from William Dupont Third and also supported the University of Alendale. Orlando Magic has never won the NBA title, but since he has taken over, De Vos has five divisions in his division and two in the Eastern Conference.
