Jordy Benn will miss a few weeks with an injury and Toronto has four defensemen out.
Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe has revealed that the 35-year-old has been out for several weeks with an upper body injury.
Benn suffered an injury in a 2-1 NHL game with New Jersey.
The Canadian club faced a series of injuries in the defensive line - previously out Morgan Reilly (to miss at least 10 games with a knee injury), T. J. Brodie (oblique injury) and Jake Mazzin (cervical spine injury, next review in February).
Arizona defender Conor Timmins had the club yesterday, but he will not play in the next match with Minnesota.
The away game against the Wild will take place today (starting at 22:00 Moscow time).
