![]() | Peter Wyndzor: If you introduce fines of a million dollars for teams for mat, they will solve the problem with pilots tomorrow10-03-2025 |
Wyndzor found a way to fight obscenities in motorsport. The journalist and former Formula-1 team manager Peter Windzor told how he would have acted at the FIA with swearing pilots.
The federation has tightened the punishment: now for multiple abuse or other disciplinary violations to the riders threatens the removal for a month.
It seems to me that the President of FIA is doing the right thing, acting hard, but makes it in a completely wrong way. As I already said, the problem is not in pilots, the problem is in those who are behind them, media managers of the F-1 teams, who, apparently, do very little, except for the fact that they answer everyone.
Do they say to pilots, what is appropriate and what not, do they help them? It cannot be assumed that riders are ordinary people, this is not so. They are racers of the Grand Prix, who have been training all their lives in order to be Formula 1 pilots. They probably did not study oratory, did not study when to swear, and when not.
And I believe that the teams should receive fines or deduction of points in the Cup of Designers, not in the test of pilots, because this is not the fault of racers. Yes, they are those who are opening their mouths, and they are all over 21 years old, but they do what we cannot, ordinary mortals, because they spend their whole lives, honing the incredible talent, the presence of which we can only dream.
The teams are behind the pilots and constantly tell them: do it, do not do it. They must enlighten the riders and receive fines if they are swearing.
If you introduce fines of a million dollars for teams, tomorrow all groups will solve the problem, there will be no risk for one of the pilots to be addicted. Everything will end there. The end of history. I don’t know why this is still being discussed. Very simple, ”said Windzor.
FIA tightened fines for disciplinary violations - up to a monthly disqualification
I don’t know a single rebel who wants to swear and scream. Alex Vurz called for common sense in the issue of fines for swearing in F-1
