Newcastle defender Steven Taylor ended speculation about his future after countersigned by the "Magpies" for five and a half years.
24-year-old defender, who was born in Greenwich, but grew up in Tyneside, was put in the team's transfer list earlier this season, as talks about his new contract broke down.
Ultimately, Taylor realized with the leadership of the team from North East England and will remain a stadium St James' Park until the summer of 2016. The defender became the third player to Newcastle, who signed long-term contract with the team within the past few weeks. This has made Mike Williamson and Nile Ranger. The star of the team Andy Carroll did do that earlier in the season.
Taylor said: "I am very happy that I found with the club for its new long-term contract that will put me in Newcastle for many years to come. I arrived here as a child and I feel that I can succeed with a team from his hometown . Over the past few weeks, I've never lost hope that everything will be decided and will continue to play for this phenomenal team. I want to thank fans for their support throughout and I intend to repay them. I wish to thank Chris Houghton, that brought me back in the squad and Alan Pardew, who gave it clear that he wants me in its composition.
The former youth international has 177 England appearances for the Magpies.
