First division clubs in Europe have registered losses totaling 1.2 billion euros for 2009, announced by UEFA. "There should be fair play and financially. Clubs will suffer consequences because of their financial situation," said President of the European football body, Michel Platini. UEFA consider the reports of 733 leading European clubs. More than half said financial losses for 2009. Total revenue for first division clubs on the continent amounted to 11.7 billion euros. Their total costs were 12.9 billion euros. Last year, UEFA introduced a fair play in financial terms in an attempt to prevent the clubs to accumulate huge debts. Teams that have many duties will be removed from participation in the Champions League season 2014-2015.
