Zenit fined for Roberto Kalos6-04-2011
Russian champion Zeint St. Petersburg was fined 300,000 rubles (about 10,600 dollars) today because of racist incident against former Brazilian international Roberto Carlos, who is currently defending the colors of Anzhi Makhachkala. Before the game between two teams last month, Zenit fan was shot to offer the master of the banana Anzhi, according to the Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Football Union, it was defined as "racially offensive".
Meanwhile, Dynamo Moscow also was fined the same amount because of unrest in the team's fans during the match with Volga Nizhny Novgorod. Volga team will have to pay a penalty of 200,000 rubles.
This is another racist scandal in Russia, which was designated to host the World Cup in 2018. Violence and ethnic tensions were one of the points today from meeting people from the Russian government with Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
